Our Inn in Praia do Rosa, SC

Our guesthouse is located at the highest point of Praia do Rosa, on the King's Road, atop the hill at the southern end. The climb might surprise you for the first time, but take the time to appreciate how blessed this path is: to your left, the sea and the sunrise; to your right, as you climb, the lagoon and the sunset. For us, it's the most enchanting place in the region, and I'm sure the view from up here is worth it.

A little bit of our history

Marcos has always had a very strong connection with the sea; he surfs and discovered Praia do Rosa in 2004. He fell in love not only with the waves but also with the energy of the place, the nature, and the people who live there and frequent the beach. It became a recurring destination; whenever he had the opportunity, he made sure to go to Rosa. We met in 2011, and in the first few months of our relationship, he already wanted to show me this paradise that he identified with so much. He said it was "my kind of place," and as expected, I fell in love too. In my prayers, I dreamed of being near the sea and having a partner who also loved that energy. I always said that if I were to get married someday, the wedding would be on the beach, or I'd rather not get married at all.

The Wedding

In November 2016, my dream of a beach wedding became a reality, actually surpassing everything I could have ever dreamed of, on Praia do Rosa, our paradise on Earth! But the dream of having our own place here never left our minds, and tired of a job (which we are very grateful for, as it allowed us to experience this) that no longer made sense for our relationship, for our physical and mental health, and didn't bring the purpose and quality of life we wanted to provide for our children, in 2017 the dream became a goal and consequently a reality!

Challenges and Overcoming Them

We used our savings, gave up our car, bought the land, and started planning a place where we could share with others the love we feel here.

However, we went from dream to nightmare, we faced many challenges and learned a lot, it was 7 years of struggle to make it happen, but we never gave up and it seems hard to believe, to be real, it still hasn't sunk in.

We are very grateful to look back and understand that everything happens at the perfect time, and how much stronger and more united we have become through this journey.

Tips on what to do in Pilger Reserve

I invite you to wake up and contemplate the sunrise. From our inn, you have a privileged and breathtaking view of this spectacle, which is unique each day, without even having to get out of bed. But, if you prefer, you can take advantage of the view to meditate on the balcony; on cold days, how about making a fire in the fireplace and enjoying the warmth of your cabin? You can also do yoga while contemplating the sunrise, or even in the late afternoon when the sky is also stunning, already appreciating the moon.

Praia do Luz

If you enjoy adventure, take the trail to Praia do Luz, which starts at our inn, and go to the Ibiraquera lagoon for coffee or chimarrão (a traditional South American tea) and enjoy the sunset. To start, you can go to Praia da Luz, which is a "more deserted" beach than Praia do Rosa, and doesn't have beachfront restaurants, only kiosks during the high season. It has a less crowded vibe, a more family-friendly beach, and the area is great for kitesurfing on windy days. You'll see some kitesurfers from the inn, at the Luz unit, on days with prevailing winds.

Praia do Rosa (South Corner)

I have a love for this corner of the beach, since it's where we had our wedding photoshoot and where our property is located! The southern end is where the fishermen's huts and restaurants are, and it tends to be a more family-friendly and peaceful environment than the northern part of the beach, especially during peak season.

Middle Lagoon

Following the shoreline, we find the middle lagoon, where there's a deck with several bars and restaurants by the sea, where you can enjoy a drink and delight in the ocean view.

Natural pools

If you want to go further, past the northern part of Rosa beach, at the corner of the rocks, there's a deck leading to a trail that takes you to the natural pools, so famous at Rosa beach, but be aware that the tides don't always come in.

There won't be enough days to explore all the beauty of this region of Santa Catarina, so plan ahead and come with more time or at different times of the year; I'm sure you'll be amazed!
